I like aggressiveness, but not when Ben Zobrist is at bat and you're already in scoring position. Be ready to be aggressive once he puts it in play, which he is likely to horsefeathering do.

Also why didn't Coghlan take off too?

Some dumb ass baserunning all around.

Hard to fault Almora for that, he read the ball was getting by Molina, didn't anticipate it bouncing off the ump's leg right back to him.

They should take solace knowing that the only way they're "better" than us is when we do stupid horsefeathers/get shitty luck Edited by badger

Actually I'm glad that horrible Nationals game happened because now anytime they have a rare loss I can think "ah, but at least it wasn't that Nationals game"

yeah, i can't blame him. he made the right read, just got really unlucky.

what's really frustrating is that almora made the read that resulted in him getting thrown out while coghlan didn't make the same read and stayed put. if coghlan runs the zobrist ties it with a hit; if almora doesn't run then zobrist ties it.

oh well, we're up 11.5 games on those sad sacks, who cares if we lost a game really.

Heyward is [expletive] awful. Did anyone tell him it's summer and he can hit now?

he's hitting .290/.362/.484/.846 in june.

yea, i know he's been good lately...just letting the frustration out i guess

i don't want to live in a world where kap is the rational one and i'm the one meatball raging

...then stop doing it.

I really don't mind that decision by Almora TBH

I'm going back and forth on it. on one hand it was a good read that the ball was getting by Yadi, but on the other hand you have to make sure it gets to the wall

isn't that too long to wait? by the point the ball's hitting the wall the catcher might be almost onto it, or it might take a bounce straight back to him. i think a player needs to go as soon as he reads that it's past the catcher.

highly doubtful Zobrist gets a hit if the 1B is playing regular depth instead of holding Coghlan on

But damn Heyward could have back-to-back good games every once in a while.

He has been hitting and Garcia wasn't a good matchup for him tonight. If Fowler or Soler were healthy he may not have started tonight.

Heyward was showing signs of going into a streak but the last 5-6 games he's stopped driving the ball with authority again. I'm still convinced he will get out of this funk and be solid offensively but I'm quite frustrated watching him at the plate in the meantime
