The Rangers are also 5 games above their pythag, Desmond is the only regular with a wOBA over .340, and A.J. Griffin is the only SP they have with a FIP below 4.20. That's unfairly painting them in a bad light, but they aren't going to win 100 games.

They've also had a bunch of sequencing luck to help make their RD even that high. So they are playing above their Pythag level, which is inflated itself.

Shields is the first pitcher to allow 7 runs before the 4th inning in 4 straight starts. No pitcher had done it in three straight starts since 1894.
