They sent him back down, though, presumably to keep playing Super 2 games with him, which no one cares about after last year's Kris Bryant outrage.

Which is really dumb because you shouldn't be playing Super 2 games with pitchers. If they're ready start the clock because that clock is more than likely to run out before you expect it to.

Ventura got 9 games, Machado got 4. Good to see MLB didn't go light on Ventura.

It's only one start. It's not a good punishment at all.

Guys just don't get longer suspensions than that. According to this site it's the second longest suspension since 2009 (non-PED or illegal substance category). Ian Kennedy got 10 games a few years ago.

If he does it again, I'm sure they'll go higher, since they already went up from the 7-game one he got last year.

I will not create a White Sox thread because they don't deserve it and there's no reason to discuss them when they aren't making a bunch of panic moves, but their latest one was DFA Jimmy Rollins and call up their top prospect Tim Anderson.

I don't know a ton about Anderson, but based on the numbers he's put up in the minors, he seems more like a "Brett Jackson" top prospect than a "Kris Bryant" one. Hits for a high average, but low BB% and SLG. Quickly googling his defense, it doesn't seem like he's all that special there as well. He's only 23 so he has a little development to go, but the White Sox aren't exactly known for developing position players, particularly once they get to the major league level.

Yeah I was saying in the General Chit-Chat thread that his minor league KK-BB ratio is 64-332, which is like, shockingly bad

Of course the White Sox would get excited about a guy that strikes out 5 times for every walk
