I understand that the chances are great that Kershaw would own us but I also would like to be the team to knock him out in the 1st or 2nd inning, even if he would be throwing on short rest. So, bring him on

Maybe I'm getting cocky, but if we're going for the 4-game sweep it would be kind of awesome to get a chance to knock around Kershaw. Would probably be sticking the chests out pretty far if we 4-game swept the Nationals and Dodgers and had a 5-1 record against Pittsburgh and 4-2 against St. Louis and the biggest division lead in baseball. Would be a cherry on top to do it against Kershaw.

Yeah to be honest, for one of the first times in a Cubs season ever, I'd be interested in seeing a team's best pitchers to see how our hitters would do. Almost every other year I'd be rooting for the Cubs to miss the Kershaws and Maeda's of the world, because screw sportsmanship and pride, the games in the standings matter much more and if the Cubs can play someone of a lower talent level, so much the better. This year though, the Cubs have virtually clinched in May, so I'm just interested in seeing what the Cubs hitters can do. Maybe they'll get shut down, certainly Kershaw has shut down basically every else, but a single loss is like, whatever.

I'd say this much: I know the Cubs would record a walk against Kershaw, at least. Which is somehow much more of an accomplishment than scoring a run against him.

Wow, this is one of the first times I've watched a game on ESPN with that superimposed strike zone box and I really dislike it, it totally warps how I think about the strike zone because it's a little off

Bah Montero

Still, Arrieta is looking fantastic, he's getting those weak dribblers, swings and misses, his control is all there

What is this politics doing in my baseball game? I watch baseball to get away from that tomfoolery!

Well if you really want to you can listen to the ESPN cast, which has them saying brilliant insights like "Maybe Jason Heyward should bunt here"
