Ah, now I see; I completely forgot Penny ended up on the Knicks. I thought it was just dudes who were awesome and then got sidetracked by injuries, though Marbury wouldn't make sense either way.

Yea Penny on the Knicks was definitely afterthought-ish. I think even the dumbest if Knicks fans saw him as just an ancillary piece as he was pretty old then. Marbury and Francis, and now arguably Rose were big moves meant to reinvigorate the team.

Yeah, the idea of Penny playing basketball in 2004, much less any Knicks fan actually getting excited over him at that point, is just depressing.

Also they used a picture of Rose when his hair was hideous.

That's false Fisola said they were one of the team pursuing him. Unless he reported it outside of Twitter

 

That said I also heard OKC was interested in Jimmy Butler. New teams added to the rumor mill on draft day makes me think that he's very very much available and its possible the Bulls have decided to trade him no matter what.

Trading Jimmy wouldn't make any sense at this point unless they are also planning to turn around Robin Lopez. Otherwise, why take on his contract so that he can be the starting center of a garbage team? I guess its possible that they would then turn around and trade him for an expiring.

Only if was for, like Wiggins or Simmons, basically someone young and a potential superstar. I don't see them getting that for Butler.

i don't mind that theoretical butler for lavine + dunn deal. butler is good enough to put us in nba hell with fringe talent.

 

surprised thibs would turn that down if true.
