not for nothing, but I'm an NBA idiot, and even I knew Wade was married to her...

I'm not knocking people for knowing it; I just think it's odd to be all incredulous, like their marriage was some thing people must know about. I didn't give a [expletive] about Wade outside of him being someone the Bulls played a few times a year and Gabrielle Union was someone who gave me a boner when I last saw a movie of hers probably close to a decade ago. Somehow we all drifted apart after that. If not knowing they were married is some badge of shame of being out of touch, oh well.

His point was that you seemed extremely excited about finding out she was Wade's wife, as if you were very familiar with her. So, if you are very familiar with Gabrielle Union, and you are also a huge sports fan, it would seem odd that you wouldn't know they were married. He wasn't implying that "people" should all know this.

So what do think the next step should be here.

I'm pretty sure there aren't any more steps. We just, kinda... move on.

Maybe send them a belated wedding gift with a note of apology?

Wade basically confirmed that he was trying to bring LeBron and Bosh HERE but the Bulls just couldnt clear enough space.

That makes absolutely no sense. Of course the Bulls couldn't clear room for 3 max contracts. That's essentially impossible to do, isn't it?

They weren't on max contracts in Miami, right?

I don't think so, but darn close.

I think all 3 took pretty significantly below the max deal level when they initially signed with Miami; the numbers went up after that, but it was relatively pretty low those first two seasons.

I dont think it was that low. A couple million a piece.

I'm terrible with max numbers in the NBA; I figured it was around $19 million and they each were getting around $15 million that first season.

I think with how the cap worked back then you basically couldn't bring all 3 of those guys in without at least 1 being an existing player on your team, i.e. you can go over the cap to resign 1 of your own players so you could afford 2 maxes (Lebron and Bosh made more than Wade in the Miami years) and then you re-sign your own guy after you have the 2 signed.
