Seriously. From the winter of 2010 now I almost can't come up with a sharper fall from grace. He had the hopes and dreams of the entire city, had two disastrous injuries, a totally weird and bizarre attitude, and that was that.

What a sad story all around.

mark prior says hi and now I'm crying

yup

Rose's fall was definitely further.

As much as I expected changes there was part of me that really thought the Bulls would just roll ahead with minor changes, so I'm a little bit shocked still. Haven't watched enough Bulls or NBA to formake a strong opinion on the deal.

No one feels sorry for Bulls fans - and they probably shouldn't - but not a lot of NBA fan bases have dealt with more horsefeathers than this one since the 98 season ended. I still wonder if the 2012 team might have had a shot against the Heat if it hadn't gone to hell.

This team isn't going to be very good next year anyway, so I'm glad the Bulls got Jerian Grant back in the deal to at least give me a reason to watch them regularly.

Wait the guy with a .422 eFG% was the key in the deal for you?

If anything it would seem the goal was to get a competent Gasol/Noah replacement. Wonder if there's still cap wiggle room, not that I'd get my hopes up on them.to actually close a big name.

I'm an ND fan. Wanting Grant was purely selfish on my part.

I do think he can be much better outside the confines of the triangle, though.

The 2010-11 bulls made NBA my possible number once sport (though the Cubs are taking it back) I'll miss him even though he'll likely never return to that year's form.

i'd be in favor of trading butler now and completely bottoming out for a few years except for the fact that it'd be garpax still pushing the buttons on the rebuild

I have read a bunch of articles on this, and have not found any information regarding his contract. He has one year left, and I'm wondering if the Bulls had to pay any.

I'm rather surprised with the players we got in return, actually.

Already being discussed in the Bulls offseason megathread. No indication of money going NY's way in the deal.

HALLELUJAH! So long, dummy. Take your idiot brother with you.

I don't really understand the joy

lots of people were very sick of his horsefeathers.

it's one thing to have a great player derailed by injury, but it's another to be a dumb ass d-bag. the first part is sad but that ship sailed a long time ago for me.

I mean, yeah i kinda get it but it's kind of like Sosa. The dude did a lot to make this franchise fun and i can't get to a level of hate for him.

Yeah. I've been done with him, as well. It's hard for me to understand how a guy in his situation could act like he has. I used to be one of his biggest supporters, but it got to a point where I just couldn't defend the ridiculous comments he was making.

what did sosa do that would make us dislike him? also, rose gave the bulls 3 years. sosa gave the cubs a hall of fame career. i feel nothing for rose.

Guess I need a new t shirt as a Rose shersey was my only Bulls attire. Throwback Hoiberg jersey?

So if they wanted to release their cap holds on Gasol and Noah and keep their hold on Moore looks like they'd be at just under 70M with a 94M cap (a savings of about 1.4M). Contracts are going to get absurd though as well. Wonder if the better player is to use cap space to absorb "bad deals" from teams chasing a big name. What good player do the Warriors need to dump to sign Durant?

Would think Dunleavy is a likely trade target now as well?

I had a Rose jersey and a Noah jersey. Now I have nothing, but honestly there's no current Bull whose jersey or shirsey i really want. Maybe Jimmy I guess.

I doubt anything is off the table. I figure MDJ and Snell are goners and I'd say Taj is 50/50 on getting dealt tomorrow night in order to move up.

It doesn't sound in this PC that they're married to Jimmy either. But that may just be my interpretation.

Corked bat, probably used steroids, left the last game the way he did. I didn't care but sosa was polarizing
