If this somehow spirals and they lose this game I'll probably need to take a week off of baseball

Yup me too. I'll skip the entire next turn in the rotation. Drunk me popped off about Arrieta not being an ace on Friday out of frustration because I only want superhuman Jake. I think this is him punishing all of us for me talking out of turn.

Wait. I thought you said you were joking and making fun of other Cubs from other message boards? What is going on here?

The last time Jake gave up 4 runs before today, Donald Trump was not a presidential candidate at the beginning of the day (he announced his candidacy that day).

Make Jake Great Again

Jake has nothing today. It had to happen eventually.

Jake getting BABIP'd for a few runs was bound to happen eventually, yes. Nothing wrong with his stuff today.

yup. it's obviously frustrating, but you have to take this over early jake who walked basically as many as he struck out but magically pitched to weak contact and gave up nothing.

Thank God.

Jake has shown glimpses of not being sharp this year but he's always gotten it together. No doubt some of this is simple bad luck but his control was not there at all that inning.

Whenever Jake is less than dominant I'm worried about his arm being fatigued because of last year.

without looking it up, it seems he's gone past 100+ pitches too many times this year

Only 5 times in 9 starts. And two of those were exactly 100. The other 3 were 119 (no-no), 108 and 111.

Yeah they are doing a good job of limiting his outings for sure. But given that he threw almost 100 innings more in 2015 than the previous year, there's a chance that arm fatigue is unavoidable.

Why is La Stella a K machine all of a sudden

He's only striking out about ~1% more than his career average

Yeah but he's committed all those strike outs after his first 30 at bats
