I don't think Fed being here says anything negative about WC. I think the FO truly wants him to get as much experience as possible in the minors. They don't want to yo-yo him and they obviously like some sort of intangible Fed brings. Its hard to argue with how our FO goes about player development. I'll gladly just take their track record and figure they're making the right decision.

Contereras has almost 2100 minor league PAs and over 2500 innings logged as a pro C. I'm at least curious as to why he didn't get a callup, if not outright suspicious since he's also turned 24 this year, but not ready to say anything conclusive about the guy.

No, I don't think so. I've been pretty open with my stance that I think Contreras is a really good prospect. You, on the other hand, maintain that you like him, while nearly every post you make about him is negative.

 

And I don't find it outright suspicious that they didn't call up a prospect to be a backup for a couple weeks in May, while we were up 7 games on the division.
