Now you may start the 6th inning with a pinch hitter instead of Arrieta, which is nice

His lead off dong after striking out the side will be more nice.

A fastball down the middle was the right pitch to swing at. He also hit it very hard, just right at a fielder.

I mean...that approach is exactly how you increase your OPS.

I'm guessing one of the exit velo guys on Twitter will post on of those tweets that say "that Soler ball was hit at x MPH and balls in play at X have a .700 batting average or something." I have now problem with green lighting him on 3-0 when he squares up a pitch on a ball that should find a ball more times than not when it's hit as hard as he hit it.

I mean, it's easy to rip on Soler's struggles so far this year, since he's a lone negative spot on a team firing on most every other cylinder, but his approach at the plate has been rock solid in the early going.

Not our day. A lot to expect a 4 game sweep of the Nats.

Uh haven't the Cubs come back from 2 down the last 2 games?

3 runs allowed in 5 innings and almost everyone just assumes the game is over. This is how normal teams function, guys.

Half of me wants feign disappointment about Jake giving up 3 runs (so far) and the other half is somehow actually disappointed that Jake can't give up 0 or 1 runs every single start.

I think 2 people think this is over

This entire game thread has been like a murderer's row, except on logic instead of pitching.
