Are all the Cubs hits from lefties today?

No, Lackey got one early.

Haha, because of course Lackey is the one righty to get a hit today.

lol but what about plexiglas joe

I think he may be making fun of Dan Shaughnessy and his UConn women's basketball tweet.

This is just so much [expletive] fun

I don't even know how to wrap my head around how good this team is. Someone's got to be the best team in the league every year, but I can't remember a team being so much better than everyone else by so much. They could spot the other team 3.5 and still be over .500.

And that's with two starters injured, a few guys in AAA who should probably see the majors later this year, and the pitching staff being managed to go easy on them.

And it appears Bryant has gotten better despite already being 24!

i know less than nothing about anything relating to college sports, but i figured that part was jokey. i'm more making fun of him for making that tweet after a month ago projecting them to decline.

F.P. Santangelo (Nats color guy) is one of the biggest homers this side of Hawk Harrelson. To hear him tell it, the only reason the Cubs are winning is that Scherzer throws hard and "on days like this" all a batter has to do against a power pitcher is touch it to get it out.

He's also surprised that Lackey can strike guys out at this point in his career. Even though his k/9 has been higher the past few seasons than it was early in his career.

Omg, I was so ready for Ross to round 2nd right there.

It looked like he momentarily thought about it and then said, "Nah, I'm too old for that horsefeathers!".

Reminds me of little league, where there was one team stacked with all the good players

What does the "plexiglass" refer to again?

he said that the cubs would decline because teams that take big jumps (2014-15) usually fall back. nevermind the fact that the 2015 team had a drastically different roster than 2014, rendering anything about 2014 irrelevant, and nevermind the offseason the cubs had. i just thought it was a really, really poor choice of an example of a plexiglas team.

if he wanted a good plexiglas team, the astros might've been a better choice.

I do have to give their TV crew some credit for last night's game. They were very critical of the umpire with respect to the Fowler ejection. All things considered, I thought they did a decent job with the broadcast last night.
