Well thanks for playing, I guess, Pirates. I feel like we should form a "good game" line to cheer them up or something.

we could give them treats

Participation trophies.

Does anyone know the best thread here regarding the (re)building job? With no game tonight, it would be interesting for me to read the thoughts again. Sort of like the Arrieta thread.

It was a myriad of threads spread across several years of suffering. Just start browsing the archives.

I would just read all of Kyle's posts from 2012-July 2015

I've always been a proponent of Photoshopping the sweeper brushes onto Joe's RV.

Maybe have the team in crazy outfits on top.

Haha I'm reading another Sox forum (SoxTalk) and their complaint is now how garbage the NL is top to bottom and how there is no competition for the Cubs (this was posted during today's game)

If you consume much NL baseball this is pretty much what it looks like. It's an embarrassment, the NBA stepped in and put an end to Hinkie's "process" but the NL is allowed to turn into a AAA league and nobody bats an eye. Absolutely ridiculous what the senior circuit has become, and its not good for the game.

AL lineups are absolute death marches right now, I doubt the Mets, Nationals and Cubs would be boasting these all world staffs if they had to face this stretch of the Sox are in the midst of.

Fun fact, the difference in run differential between the Cubs and White Sox (65), is greater than the difference between the White Sox and Brewers (63). But I'm sure that's just because the WS are facing Goliaths like the Orioles.

dear god coomer is so bad at describing what happened

I think my favorite part of listening to the couple games on the radio last week was when Coomer was so terrible that Pat would jump in after the play had ended and explain exactly what happened.

If the Red Sox don't collapse in 2011, there's a very real chance this team isn't even half as good as it is now.

I'm not from Chicago, so I don't really care about the White Sox, but their schedule to kick off the second half looks kinda brutal. They start it in the west coast against Seattle and Anaheim, then they have a 6 game homestand, 4 against the Tigers, the 4 game Home/Home with the Cubs, then the Twins, Tigers, Os (at home) and Royals. Thats a tough 26 game stretch that could make or break their season, and we get to be right in the middle of it.

Edit: OK, it may not make or break their season, but it will be an important stretch of games for them.
