Saw Rogers tweet Javy hasn’t walked in like 177 PAs. I know he is what he is and he’s never gonna be even a decent walk rate guy but that’s pretty ridiculous even for Javy standards.

Yeah, I know it's been super long since Javy walked. I almost feel like he has a bet going on in the clubhouse with teammates...

8 total walks in April (5 BB, 3 IBB)

ZERO total BBs in May through yesterday.

Also, he batted .303 in April; batting .263 in May through yesterday. Wonder if there's a connection.

the fastball Javy turned around last night for that bomb was 100 mph and up and out of the zone lol

"Javy gave me a sign to take a bigger lead and at that point I knew exactly what he was thinking," Contreras said. "On the first pitch I did a fake steal which I think prompted the throw over on the second pitch. It worked out. Javy has the best instincts as a runner and player."

Baez was asked if he'll watch the highlight, which is bound to be played a lot in Chicago over the next couple of days.

"Good, yeah," Baez said smiling again. "I would love to see myself."

NEW YORK — Javier Báez stood at his locker shirtless as he readied himself to talk to waiting reporters. As one commented that some prefer he be on camera without his shirt on, he joked that he’d post something soon on social media from his ESPN Magazine Body Issue photo shoot last summer. After fielding a few questions related to his tie-breaking steal of home that ignited the Cubs’ 2-0 victory over the New York Mets, another reporter pointed out that his highlights would be shown on TV over and over again Sunday night.

Good,” Báez said with a wry grin. “I would love to see myself.

i realize now that all we need to do is convince javy that walks are somehow aesthetically pleasing and attractive

Just leave him alone and let him be awesome. They don't need to tinker and break him.

I think everyone has seen the play by now, but I'll post it anyway. How many times will Javy steal home in his career? I'll say 6, which is ridiculous.

They could tell Javy he can do And-1 Mixtape moves when he walks to first, like Dave Chappelle:

I wish I could find the Mets broadcast call of that Baez steal.

Listen until the end

Thanks. Not enough depression to satisfy though. I was hoping for something more Brennaman-esque.
