Also for anyone that would rather have Len and Bob, the game will be on WPWR tonight, whatever the hell that is.

Yeah, I know that its channel 184 for me, but since I don't watch it for anything else besides the rare Cubs/Bulls game, I have no idea what the station actually is and how to articulate it to others outside of the call letters.

what did you call JD

apologize right now

omg JD I am sorry. I thought this was like the radio side where every color guy has to have the same first name.

Fun fact: according to Wikipedia, JD holds the major league record for most at-bats without an extra base hit, with 373.

*whispers*

I liked Bob better than JD

They're both pretty good. I don't know why you're acting like that's something controversial to be saying.

Eh; they're basically just sidekicks. Bob was funny and had really good chemistry with Len, so the meatball stuff didn't bug me. I like JD and and he and Len work together very well, but I (cornily) liked how Bob and Len seemed to genuinely be friends.

I liked Bob for the most part while he was here...I think he's gotten more meatballish since he left, from what I've heard.

Bob has gotten more cranky over the years. I got the Dbacks broadcast during the Cubs series and he was very curmudgeonly. He also comped Kris Bryant to Rob Deer, which I thought was kinda strange. I remember Deer as a big oaf strikeout or HR guy and not much else.

Yeah that was the thing for me, Bob and Len had a really good chemistry. Bob had terrible baseball opinions but they worked really well together.

To be clear, Bob was fine. There are very few insightful and not backwards-thinking baseball color analysts, so while Bob had his flaws he didn't argue with Len when Len brought more progressive ideas up, and the two had a very good rapport. JD is the unicorn that doesn't force you to make that tradeoff. He's got the rapport, dad jokes, and he doesn't make you bite your tongue when he talks about baseball.

It is a different rapport, though; not bad at all, but Len seems to react to him like he's this weirdo who's wandered into the booth with him. It's pretty damn funny, but I definitely miss the Bob & Len dynamic.

He must've been pissed when Lester avoided this fate yesterday.
