Mets lose to the Marlins and are now 1-4 at home against the Phillies and said Marlins. They have a .247 wOBA as a team this year, which is like having an entire team of Jake Arrietas, only just the hitting version and not the pitching version.

When I think of the hitting version of Jake Arrieta I think of 440-foot dongs.

I will admit to still being pretty terrified of the Mets (way more than any other team) in a playoff series, but yeah, I could definitely see them not even getting there. There are definitely some weaknesses that could cost them over a full season, namely, for me, that infield defense.

I'd say their garbage lineup is a bit more of a concern.

Terry Collins just brought Jim Henderson in to pitch the 7th after he threw 40+ pitches in a relief outing last night and Henderson proceeded to load the bases without recording an out before Collins pulled him

For sure. Riding the best stretch in Yoenis Cespedes' career lulled them into thinking that they had a decent offense, I think. They really should have added an impact bat over the offseason. If they miss the playoffs with that rotation, it will have been a massive failure on the part of the front office.

i mean, their offense in the second half was a lot more than cespedes. i still think they are a little better than mediocre and won't make the playoffs with a mid-upper 80's win total but yeah.

And what a disappointing start for the Twins. It's not like they were favorites by any stretch, but they were considered by many to be a fringe contender. They have looked awful this far.

Better than Bryant.

I'm terrified of the Nationals, because I don't think I could handle getting knocked out by Dusty Baker.
