It's too bad we didn't have a post for Friday's game so we could have had 87 posts about the fact that the cameramen couldn't track fly balls for horsefeathers

Yeah, I looked at the schedule and this game confused the hell out of me. Why have the final game of spring training in the stadium of the team you're about to open a series against? So weird.

It's especially a tease since the real opener is at 10pm EDT and I probably won't be able to stay up for the whole thing

Games all week are gonna be late, between Anaheim and Arizona.

Yep, and I'll catch the first 4 innings of all of them

Quit whining; those will be middle of the night for me, so I'm not watching any of them.

These games are less than 10 minutes from my house. I got excited for like 2 seconds then confused for five minutes until I figured out the reason tickets to the first game were so cheap was because it was an exhibition game.

Random but I can't start the opening day thread this soon:

I am scared Joe is not going to take advantage of starting the season with the DH and assemble the Cubs Voltron lineup and start Rat Boy instead as has been rumored instead of Soler.

With Lester going game 2 we know we won't see it then

Yeah, I think I heard Len or someone else say they are likely starting LaStella in game one because of his approach against pitchers like Richards or something like that.

Heaney is starting the second game, so zero chance Soler isn't starting that one.

i wish mojo's DH was a thing and we could have lester hit instead

And people wonder why there's an irrational dislike of LaStella. Regardless of the logic, it's like tempting people with filet mignon and giving them salad instead. Sure, the salad is the smarter, healthier choice, but:

I really don't mind. Frequent days off for starters and reps for backups is a key part of Maddon's genius, and this lineup can afford to run at 85% effort every day and still mash the league into submission.

i don't think anyone minds for anything but selfish/irrational reasons.

i want to see that damn voltron lineup and we all thought we'd get a taste on opening day...now we might not see it until whenever our 2nd AL park series is

If LaStella plays does he DH with Schwarber in LF, or does he play 2B/3B with Zobrist/Bryant in LF and Schwarber at DH? I really want the Greek God of Dongs Lineup like the rest but I get starting rat boy in this game I guess.

I mind because I'll be there on Monday and want to see Soler, not LaStella.

Just a guess, but I would guess Schwarber starts in left like normal because thats where Joe will need him to get most comfortable and its the first game of the year and his legs feel good and he wants to play it and yada yada, run him out there. He can DH the second game. I could see Joe using TLS as the DH to get him used to hitting off the bench, as I could see him being our most used pinch hitter throughout the year.

But I mean I'm sure Joe knows that we can play La Stella at SS and DH Addison if we want and still win by like eleven.
