my favorite part is that the Cubs dynasty is over/never happened after 3 straight NLCS and a World Series, and it's pretty widely accepted that the Giants had a dynasty and they never made the playoffs in back to back years.

Something awesome I just stumbled upon while doinking around on baseball-reference: Mike Fontenot had the 4th highest WAR on the 2008 Cubs. Right behind Ted Lilly.

I’m glad we haven’t heard of any guys getting any surgeries, by now you’d think that would be out. I was kinda worried we’d hear Russell was going to have something done to his foot/shoulder and to lesser extents there could’ve been something with Bryant’s thumb, Hendricks wrist/finger and Schwarber’s knee. So it’s good it’s likely just R&R for everyone this offseason.

Good gracious. Setting aside the terribly unfocused narrative here, he mentions trading 1) Russell at all and 2) Baez OR Russell as if the two were interchangeable, almost ancillary parts of this team. Cameron beings the quality of the Fangraphs staff down a huge amount on his own

 

He was on with Bernstein and Goff the other day and was saying innumerable dumb things, the worst of which was him talking about recency bias when discussing using Duensing instead of Wilson i the playoffs. Idiot.

 

Give him a break. Its difficult to distinguish between "recency bias" and "obviously dead."

ben zobrist is a gold glove finalist at 2B lmfao

 

even if you buy into how well he graded out at 2B this year, he still only played 81 games there

Only started 65. 34 complete games at 2B.

LeMahieu and Gordon (other 2 finalists) had 135 and 138 CG, respectively. Laughable.

apparently gordo gave maddon a pretty hard time on the conference call about all the firings after they implied that all/most coaches would be back and things got contentious.
