Again, just people saying how they could see it being a weakness that could hinder a baller offense relatively quickly. Not that much of a stretch (though a lot of that is admittedly based on how gracefully one worries Lester is going age).

Well, its pitching, so obviously, it can go south quick.

 

That said, we'll add a guy thru trade and a guy thru FA. We'll also make a trade or two like last year, that brought in Butler and Mills.....Granted, those didn't particularly work....But, they'll continue to try, on this front, to eventually find that diamond in the rough.

 

They also have MORE money available, if they need to address things early in the season, due to multiple injuries. Meaning they can buy a slightly bad contract guy or something. They've got enough still IN the system to acquire multiple guys as well.....Not the elites, but the JA Happ's of the world can still be had.

 

They unearth every avenue, their process is damn good. Of course, its POSSIBLE to get snakebit. But, these guys will have done their absolute damnedest to guard against that.

 

The offense can take this team to the playoffs, with very average pitching. It'd take a hell of a lot to go on, if we failed to be average. And I suspect we'll look somewhere between damn good and horsefeathering awesome by the time the season starts anyway.

While you should definitely drop absolutely everything you are doing and mainline at least the first 6 seasons right now, it will probably never have the same impact as growing up with comedy perfection in real time.

Lots of good horsefeathers in those first 2 seasons to enjoy after the fact, but, yeah, if I'm selling it (rightly) as maybe the funniest show of all time, I'm not gonna have someone watch it from the beginning.

Jerkass Homer is a flawed theory anyway; there's tons of great episodes in the first 10 seasons that involve or revolve around Homer being a jerk.

The trade rumor stuff I get, I personally think it’s absolutely ridiculous to trade Russell, but I get it’s a product of the offseason to suggest such things and with Theo’s positional player trade comment. What I don’t get and am already sick of is the argument that Javy is a better SS option than Russell if both are on the team. That’s just a stupid opinion that’s based on nothing of pure subjective nonsense with little to no facts or stats backing it up.

I think Addison's hit/contact tool is coming along, and when it gets here, he's going to be a monster and we'll be very glad we kept him. The difference in defense at SS appears negligible, but the combo of excellent defense at both positions is pretty unmatched. However, much as I love him, I'm moving Javy 100 times out of 100 before Russell
