Google Analytics is clearly not catching the source for some of the hits to the article. Every time I check the real time stats, there's 4-6 people reading the article, but the vast majority of the hits are showing as "direct".

BTW, whoever is doing the nsbb reddit account, post to /r/chicubs in addition to /r/cubs. You'll probably get a lot of duplicate readers, but no reason to post in just one.

That's me. I didn't know if I'd be pissing people off posting the same content to both. I've never been much of a redditer.

I can't speak to those specific subs...but there's other subs that are similar to each other that get the same content posted by the same poster across all of them.

Thanks! Are you the one that messaged me there, too?

Nope.

So now that Kershaw is dead, is Bryant the current favorite for MVP?

Looking at stars for potential playoff teams, Posey and Stanton are having sub-par seasons for their standards. And Harper hasn't even been the best player on his team. Carpenter, Murphy, Seager, and Cespedes would probably get consideration. Obviously Rizzo too, which could hurt Kris, but I think the voters will eat the defensive versatility stuff right up, plus all of the dongs of course.

That's actually kind of lame.

But somehow still awesome because its Kris Bryant.

I just wonder what the reason is. Is it an "I don't want to poison my body" type situation? Or maybe a history of alcoholism in his family that makes him overly cautious? I mean, I don't drink much...but it's mostly a taste aversion...and I certainly can't say I've never had a drink...

I don't know how applicable it is to Bryant, but as someone who also has never drank, it's a combination of things. Upbringing(my parents didn't drink at all), picky tastes(I don't try a lot of new food/drink regardless), personal conservatism/willpower(I have a hard enough time not eating all the Oreos the same day I open the package, no need to risk that portion control with alcohol), and social circles(my friends either don't drink or do so rarely).

On the one hand, this is a very thoughtful and well-reasoned response.

On the other hand...

From the first page of this very thread

MIKE WANTS TO clear up a rumor. On June 25, the Cubs played the Dodgers, and Kris left the game early. Mike knows there was message-board speculation that his son was hungover. Not true, he says. Kris doesn't drink. At least not yet. Someday, he's told his father, he will take a swig of champagne. It won't happen when he marries his high school sweetheart, Jessica Delp, next year. Instead, it will come in the Cubs' clubhouse after they win the World Series.

"Kris doesn't drink" and "Kris has never had a drink" are pretty different statements.
