if NSB shuts down for some reason and this entire faction migrated to /r/chicubs, it'd actually be relatively okay to browse.

I just assumed Cards fans would go to Viva El Birdos. If NSB goes down, guess I'll be stuck w/ Twitter for news/updates. There's no current community I'd be interested in joining. PSD has too many mouth-breathers for my liking (just not worth the time); bleacher nation...ehh, I like Brett just fine, but every thread there seems to devolve into political discussions & the population there is heavily red staters from what I can tell, which I wouldn't care about if politics wouldn't be discussed by the knuckle draggers there.

St. Louis is one of the best teams in the league at scoring late in games; they are second in MLB in runs scored in the 9th inning.

 

OK so the first reason why the Cardinals could win the World Series this year is because they have scored more runs in the 9th inning than every other team except 1. There are a number of different ways to go with this, you could mention that 9th inning runs scored has no predictive value for a team's World Series chances, you could mention that the Cardinals are 4th in baseball in runs scored so having scored the 2nd most runs in the 9th inning isn't an extreme outlier. But I will go with this, I wonder if they've scored so many 9th inning runs because they are FREAKING 25-30 AT HOME and find themselves played more bottom of the 9ths than other teams that score a lot of runs?

 

St. Louis seems to perform much better against teams over .500 this year than anyone else; especially the favorites for the NL pennant.

 

No need for a snarky rebuttal here, I'll just point out that they are 22-35 against teams over .500 this year

 

The Cardinals have the best record in the majors this year when it comes to playing on the road. They are an astounding 31-19 away from home.

 

Also, Busch Stadium is one of the most difficult places for road teams to win in the post-season. The fans are great all year long, but seem to turn it up to a whole new level in the playoffs.

 

THEY ARE 25-30 AT HOME THIS YEAR. And that last sentence is a total BFIBy line.

Being overly critical of the team when Mozeliak was LaRussa's puppet GM, trolling the hell out of a few terrible posters, and hating bad players with a fiery passion (Aaron Miles, Ryan Theriot, Skip Schumaker, Kyle McClellan, Jeff Suppan, etc. etc.)
