Mike Shannon is definitely the worst, most homeristic announcer in baseball right? Like he's even worse than Hawk, and continuously mispronounces peoples names and makes no attempt to fix it.

Hearing him have to narrate the Cardinals losing brings great joy to my heart, though.

"Ken Zobrith" and "Jorge SolAR" were two of the gems the last time I had no choice and had to listen to him. He's painful.

well this is good for a laugh

"I wouldn't be surprised if we make a pretty good run and catch those guys. They haven't gone through a bad streak, which every team will go through. And we haven't gone through our good streak yet...

We've played some of the toughest part of our schedule and they haven't. My guess? I bet we can get it down to four games before the All-Star break... If we get it to four, they'll be thinking about it."

They haven't won a game since this idiot went and shot his mouth off. Wish I could be at one of the games this week to remind him that he is stupid and plays for a bad team. They need constant reminders.

The Cardinals were 44-22 on this date a year ago. Cubs were 11.5 out. Granted the run differential wasn't there for St. Louis. If the Cubs play the same pace for the rest of the season, they'll win 113 games. Cards would have to go 78-16 to match that.

i'm going to start calling Aledmys Diaz the Challenger Space Shuttle

Challenger was a tragedy, Diaz is clearly a comedy. I propose "Jeb Busch" instead.

Went to my son's little league game last night. One of the other dad's is an outspoken Cardinal fan. He commented how one of the assistant coaches had a beard that made him look like Arrieta (I thought there was more of a Hammel resemblance, but whatever.) Someone didn't know who he was talking about.

"You know, that Cubs pitcher they think is so good."

Seems like the Cards are going to stick with Rosenthal as the closer, which is great news for their opponents. Matheny really is an idiot.

Well, nevermind. I read something earlier that indicated he would stay. Pretty disappointing.

We must be playing like horsefeathers if the Cardinals are 3-7 in their last 10 games and all of those wins were against us. Bleh

BFIB Twitter has been pretty good tonight

Meanwhile, lets check in on Randal Grichuk, who is better and will always be better than Kris Bryant...

I saw a guy foul a ball off his face taking a full swing in BP in high school and never thought I'd see it again/knew it was even possible. Apparently Diaz just did it

He swung at a pitch on the outer half, fouled it off the plate and up into the area around his right eye.

I saw that happen a couple of years ago in a HS game as well.

This may have been tangentially mentioned in the comment about @BFIB, but I guess they're teaching the 'right way' in AAA too.

started by Hazelbaker, who was undoubtedly shouting "I WAS IN THE SHOW' repeatedly during the melee

But I dare anyone to deny that that was the most gangsta' bat flip ever.
