lol good point  That's kind of what I figured but just wanted to verify.  Either way those are a scary duo to have fronting your national team.

Watching Mbappe debase himself to desperately try to draw fouls and waste time as France tries to sneak a 1-0 win over Austria(on an own goal) is just sad.  Best player in the world resorting to pretending he caught a hand to the face after getting stood up, have some shame

Not even the most embarrassing thing he did either. Running back onto the pitch, only to sit down a second later to waste time was somehow even worse. Great player, but pathetic showing.

Damn, has Kane really slipped that far? I don’t watch a lot of Bundesliga. I know Foden and Saka have had incredible years but didn’t think they were quite on his tier. Kane might have been overrated at his peak though.

Kane was probably overrated by people who liked him (ie, most Spurs fans) but underrated by people who didn’t. Not a flashy player because he’s not fast (relative to other guys) but a very good goal scorer who always put himself in good positions to poach goals and a very underrated passer.

Related note, I’ve been entertained this year hearing stuff about how Kane is as good or better than ever which is likely solely because he’s scoring more goals. Nevermind that it’s in a league that’s not as good as the EPL. With Spurs he never finished higher than 10th in the Ballon d’Or (which was probably fair) but this year he’s been projected as a top-5 finish.

Kane is very good at what he does - definitely one of the top strikers. I don't think he's slipped so much as he never was as good as Foden is. Strikers get over-rated. See Haaland, Erling. For me, it's a bit of a conundrum because if you don't have that guy that puts it in the net, you won't be successful so the striker is absolutely necessary - but at the same time, they are useless if you don't have people who get them the ball. Other players influence the run of play far more than the striker but the striker decides the game - ask a Liverpool fan.

Side note, hard to argue the idea that the EPL is better than the Bundesliga if you watched Europe at all. The Bundesliga is definitely higher scoring though.

Cole Palmer after being the 2nd highest PL goal scorer and 2nd highest in assist this season and Gareth Southgate still hasn’t given him any minutes. That England squad deserves a different manager.
