The last time Chelsea had a manager last more than 4 full seasons was 1967-74 so I'm going to say that 6th year option wasn't necessary.

Silly trivia from today’s CL final: because of the incentive structure of the Bellingham transfer, it’s financially more beneficial for Dortmund to lose this game than it is to win.

This thing has 85th minute Real winner written all over it. Dortmund with the better of the action in the 1st half but can’t score.

maybe that explains why Terzic replaced Adeyemi with Reus . . .

I'll pretty much never root for Real unless they play Chelsea, but I have to say they're a lot less hate-able now that Sergio Ramos, Ronaldo, Pepe and Marcelo are no longer there.

Pretty disappointing performance.  The number of blunders we made to directly put Colombia in position for great chances is alarming.  They could have easily had 5 goals today.  But whatever, we've looked bad in the build up to big tournaments in the past, we'll see how things look when the games are real.  But sobering for sure.

Edit: LMAO, I turned it off after the 3rd goal in ~78thish minute.  I didn't realize Colombia actually did get 5 goals.  OK then, could have had 7 goals today.

parts of that actually looked pretty good honestly. but yea, you can't give the ball away like that. WTF was up with Jedi? Also, I never want to see Haji Wright at the 11 ever ever again. or on the field to be perfectly honest. hopefully they were just working on some things because that was embarassing.

On the plus side my kids finally nagged me enough to agree to spend a ridiculous amount of money to see Messi at Soldier Field tomorrow.  Watch him not play.

I hope he does! If he traveled, he'll likely play

well, he played but the game was more or less unwatchable in the second half. I think I'll watch the Euros

Haha yeah, but my kids didn't care.  He had a couple of good touches within the first few minutes of entering the match and created a chance or two but seemed like Argentina went into a bit of a shell afterwards.  Had one free kick everyone was holding their breath for that sailed over the net too. Either way my kids lit up seeing him warming up and then getting into the game.  Also my last name is DeMaria and my kids believed for at least a year that Di Maria was related to us despite me insisting otherwise.  But they still love him and were thrilled to see him score.  All in all worth the cost of going.

Edit: Also, apparently my kids were on TV for a good 5 seconds just before the match started so I had people texting me pictures and videos of it 😂

Holy crap that was one of the most entertaining USMNT games in awhile. Definitely some stuff to clean up but they  got the performance they needed tonight.

More encouraged about Copa now

that was a really fun game to watch! still feels like we don't have a 9 . . .  maybe Balogun. Pepi looked . . . uninspired.

I completely forgot that 2026 World Cup qualifying was underway, what with the US, Mexico and Canada already qualifying as hosts.

With the expansion to 48 teams, every federation gets extra representation. So now, CONCACAF gets 3 teams on top of the 3 hosts, plus 2 additional playoff spots. So, effectively, the entire Hex now gets to go to the World Cup.
