I was listening to MLB radio while driving today and apparently Kazmir's velocity is way down, like topping out mid 80s, in his 2 spring starts. Maybe it's nothing and as a older guy he's just easing into things with a few weeks left in ST but at the same time it could be another guy added to the Dodgers already impressive list of pitchers on the DL to start the year.

I still wouldnt trade him for Victor Zambrano.

Should be fun to speculate:

Sounds like the White Sox didn't want his kid in the locker room anymore. Guess he had him around all the time with his own locker and stuff. He's 14.

What a odd story, the comments from Williams that Rosenthal has seems like he/the team made a reasonable request. They just asked LaRoche to not bring his kid 100% of the time but he was still allowed a good chunk of it.

this kid was there for 100% of the games?

does he go to school?

Home schooling?

apparently they pull him out of school for weeks at a time and load up on homework, but goes back home when the team is on the road.

Seems like a really good setup for him.

These guys go 3 weeks at a time without seeing their families, I fail to see how the kid being in the club house is hurting anyone. Not to mention a 14 year old now knows that the White Sox didn't want himn around and his Dad left baseball because of it.

Yeah, I'm sure none of the other players have any problem with a 14 year old running around their clubhouse and one (terrible) player being allowed to do it.

I get that and I certainly don't see an issue allowing his kid around a lot of the time, but by the sounds of it he was there all the time. I get why other players, coaches or FO guys may want to have some times with no kids around. The logical conclusion of this seems to be somewhere in the middle of what LaRoche was doing and what the White Sox requested. They didn't say they were putting a complete ban on him being around, just to not do it 100% of the time.

How many players should be allowed to bring their kids 100% of the time? Is there an age limit? How much vote to the other players get on this?

Apparently you haven't spent any time with children.

A 14-year old in your locker room every single day is going to affect the dynamic.

It's not like he's the little kid from a League of Their Own, at 14 I'm sure he's at least reasonably sane around adults.

I don't necessarily fault the White Sox here, but any day the White Sox and Cardinals look like bad guys in the media is a good day.

I think it is absolutely ridiculous for anybody to try and paint the white sox in a bad light on this one, but I am 100% in favor of it.

I don't see the White Sox looking like bad guys at all. I see LaRoche looking like a kinda crappy parent, though.
