In what is possibly more a marketing ploy than an actual change in the name of the stadium, the popular — and irreverent — card game “Cards against Humanity” announced on its website that it has purchased naming rights to Joliet Route 66 Stadium.

 

The announcement on the Chicago-based company’s website reads: “For the final day of Cards Against Humanity Saves America, we really “hit it out of the park” by purchasing the naming rights to a minor-league baseball stadium in Joliet, Illinois. Morosi amongst others have tweeted today that MLB and the union will be meeting this week to go over pace of play things and changes are almost guaranteed to be coming. In general I’m against most of the proposed rough ideas (mound visit limits as an example) because I don’t think cutting a game 5-10 minutes matters but I’ll wait to cast judgement to see what they actually do.

dave cameron is leaving fangraphs to go work for the padres. i’ve always thought he was pretty terrible. i guess you just automatically qualify for these jobs if you work for fangraphs or bp long enough.
