Why does ESPN think that we don't want to actually see any of the home runs during the home run derby?

The split screen doesn’t help matters but since they’re allowed to throw balls while they’re still in the air from the previous pitch, the cuts between the at-bat and the pitch in the air would be incredibly distracting.

This event in particular seems like it would be much more enjoyable to watch in person.

Where's the discussion about the draft? All I see are articles

Those are the discussions. Yes, it is confusing.

When is the announcement expected for the 2025 All-Star Game location?  Any chance that happens during All-Star week?

I feel like that usually is how it goes, but I may be way off.

I hope its announced this week so I can bitch and moan when its not Wrigley and we'll have to target 2027.  Wrigley has had 1 All-Star game in the past 61 years, and the 1 was 33 years ago.  For comparison, Cleveland has hosted 4 times since 1962.  The entire city of Chicago with 2 teams has only hosted 3 times since 1962 (1983, 1990, 2005).

Unsurprising, but gross nonetheless.

The New York Yankees are introducing a sponsored patch to their uniform, the team announced Wednesday. Here’s what you need to know:

  • Starr Insurance logos will debut on the sleeves of Yankees jerseys on July 21. The location of the patch will vary from player to player.

That sucks.

I've been pleasantly surprised not to have a Cubs ad patch yet. I know one is coming but at least I'm getting a few more months without one.

What happens when a team sponsor is a competitor of a company that an individual player endorses?

Said sponsors must each nominate a representative to participate in feats of strength.

It's no different than all of those Adidas guys who are sporting those hideous Nike logos on the current jerseys.

Well, sure, why not when you've got all that money you didn't spend on literally horsefeathers anything related to your baseball team

For the past couple years, neighbors down the shore blow an airhorn whenever Phillies hit a homerun. Now they do it whenever they score. They just scored 2 in the 9th to beat the Orioles. It’s rather annoying, but at least justifiable when they come back and win in walkoff fashion.
