I also enjoy that stuff. And there's plenty of former Cubs abroad:

KBO: Jae Kuk Ryu, Brooks Raley, Jake Brigham, Donn Roach, Carlos Villanueva (non-Cubs: Jeff Manship, Alexi Ogando, Anthony Ranaudo)

Japan: Casey McGahee, Kosuke Fukudome (yep), Marcus Mateo, Spencer Patton, Jay Jackson, Kyuji Fujikawa, Rafael Dolis, Phil Coke, Tsuyoshi Wada, Stephen Fife.

Italy: Ronny Cedeno (also Mark Teahan)

a) it's the Goldeyes

2) Millar took 1 AB for a promotional event, and Ryan Zimmerman is actually STILL PLAYING WITH THE horsefeathering WASHINGTON NATIONALS

For the longest time when people would talk about Tseng, in my mind I was thinking it was Jae-Kuk Ryu and I was like how horsefeathering long has this guy been around

Oh and Michael Kopech might be a thing for the White Sox. Confetti cannon for them

He's going to die soon enough, even if it's a Syndergaard thing where he gets to be good for a year+. It's all pathos with these guys.

To follow up on the where are they now stuff, I dipped into the Mexican league rosters, and:

Carlos Quentin, Daric Barton, Nyjer Morgan (and T-Plush too,) Willy Tavares, Julio Borbon, Kyle Blanks, and Chad Gaudin are all on one team, and scattered throughout the league are Jose Valverde, Sergio Mitre (per BBR, he hadn't pitched since 2013 before resurfacing in Mexico this season,) Esmailen Caridad, Junior Lake, Dave Sappelt, Jorge Cantu, Miguel Olivo, Endy Chavez, Yuniesky Betencourt, among others.

Anybody have any updates on Carson Sands? I know he was hurt and then sent down to Eugene. Is he hurt again?? He's be nothing short of a disaster over his last 4 appearances. Not getting the ball over the plate and getting shelled.

Any ideas?

Zack Short was identified as a Matt Carpenter profile in the minor leagues. These are guys who make high a high amount of contact and are also extreme fly ball hitters and whose tools might escape scouts to a degree.

Short has a swstr% of just 6.4 and a GB of 28.7

This is the blurb

Zack Short, however, merits a moment of consideration. Just a 17th-round pick in last year’s draft, Short has nevertheless exhibited a rare combination of contact and elevationwhile playing in High-A as just a 22-year-old and while recording all of his defensive starts for Myrtle Beach at shortstop. He’s produced an isolated-power figure of .170, about 40 points higher than the Carolina League average. That profile would be encouraging were it to belong to a former first-round selection. From a 17th-round pick — especially one who was selected just last year — it’s rare.

I didn't realize that Short was playing 100% SS at Myrtle Beach. That's really nice to see considering I had him pegged as a non-factor there when he was equally splitting time across 3B/SS/2B at Low A.

Also good to see the batting average tick up at High-A, all the contact and elevation doesn't do you much good if you can't get enough hits in A-ball.

Before the promotion I was thinking he's another Tim Saunders but he's done a good job of handling the advancement in competition
