Even if this is the plan, why not trade him now and then sign him again in the offseason?

 

Can't trade a "core" member of the team according to Garpax. Standing pat at the trading deadline was all about saving face for the organization. If Garpax traded Gasol, they'd miss the playoffs and look pretty dumb after firing Thibs.

I wish they would tank this season and take a chance on getting that lottery ticket again. Try again next year when they are healthy. Assuming they will ever have a healthy season, that is.

I watched a little bit of the game on Sunday. Seemed like he was driving to the rim a lot more which obviously is what you want to see from him.

 

It is interesting that he seems to have started looking like the old Rose again once Butler went out. I'm sure part of it is coincidental based on him finally getting over the face injury.

Overall his numbers aren't that much different than how he looked last month; he's much better than how putrid he was through December, but he's still essentially a slightly above average dude.

I missed the first one but I did a triple take when I saw the second one. Couldn't believe that was Doug. Kid is definitely starting to get some confidence in his game.

Obviously wasn't part of what led him to be a lottery pick, but his vertical at the combine (or whatever the NBA equivalent is) was 36.5, which surprised a lot of people. He just hasn't done a lot of cutting to the lane until the last few weeks.

Most of this team was the same group that would've probably made the Finals last year if not for a Game 4 meltdown against Cleveland. Nice job, GarPax.
