If so, davell only one have happiness here

Nah Id be pretty happy to. I don't like Castro and I'd certainly prefer to have Zobrist on the roster than Castro. I just see Castro as a defensive liability and a bit of a mental flake. He's had a pretty inconsistent career.

We'll all be likely to enjoy the first year or two. The lineup going:

Heyward

Zobrist

Rizzo

Bryant

Schwarber

Soler

Montero

Russell

would be awfully lethal in 2016 & 2017.

I keep coming back to Theo saying he knows our best window may be those 2 years.....(Kyle, please don't jump on that, it's not like we're not contending after that)

I love what Zobrist has done in his career. But as has been said, I have no interest whatsoever in paying $16M per for his age 36-39 seasons.

Szymborski was pointing out the horror show of his comps earlier on twitter

Less than a quarter middle infielders (5/21) around Zobrist's level of player even averaged *2* bWAR from 35-38.

I only spot checked a couple of those, but it looks like he's not accounting for players that retired before 38. Sandberg for example only played for 2 years(36-37 after a year off for retirement) and put up that 4.0 bWAR.

you do the ellipses thing in the minor forum a lot, right? unless I'm mixing you up with someone...

which, i must say I like a lot. it's just that I now associate ellipses with you. no offense at all intended - i like your style.

#Mets optimism on Ben Zobrist slightly down. Appear concerned about #cubs pursuit.

I reallllly don't want Zobrist at the 4/$80 we've heard floated.

I don't think those numbers were realistic. I seem to recall someone tweeting that it wasn't even close.

That report was basically universally ridiculed

Nah Id be pretty happy to. I don't like Castro and I'd certainly prefer to have Zobrist on the roster than Castro. I just see Castro as a defensive liability and a bit of a mental flake. He's had a pretty inconsistent career.

You're going to hate Zobrist's 2B defense if you think Castro is a liability there.

Does he stare blankly into the stands as balls zip by his glove?

No he doesn't even get to half the balls that Castro gets to and boots and stares blankly at

Has it really fallen off the table that quickly? I know you regress as you age, but when you look through his numbers 2015 seems like more of an outlier than anything. He's had a positive UZR in 5 of the 7 years he played any significant innings at second.

I really need to learn defensive metrics. To me, it looks like he's either really good or really bad and that means he's basically average. Where am I wrong?

I mean at this point, are we really still ridiculing the Castro mental lapse criticisms? I used defend those things and had to stop.

So far, we haven't done anything that would take away from future years outside that two year window. A Zobrist contract for four years might a little.

Really? God people... Castro's defense the first half of the year was one of the most frustrating things Iv'e ever seen on a baseball field the guy is terrible.
