This would be the 6th 4-0 sweep in MLB history where the winning team does not trail the entire series.

Cubs have lost 3+ in a row to end every playoff run they've had since 1945

TBS should put Inside the NBA team in the booth next year. Shaq and Barkley can't be worse than Ripken and Darling

I'd take Steven A Smith and Hawk Harelson even.

excuse me, i'm losing my mind. it happens when the cubs make the nlcs.

It's just so frustrating that the Cubs gave up a 1st inning run in 7/8 NLDS and NLCS games. Hard to win a World Series when you trail in every single game

Yup. I think this needs to be remembered. The tendency--and it's not wrong--will be to blame the offense because they only scored "x" amount of runs. Which will be true. But the pitching was also not good enough. You just can't keep falling behind--and falling behind immediately, not late on account of the offense failing.

#1 priority next season is to get a quality SP. Hammel can't be on this team next season he's been awful for the entire 2nd half.

find a way to break a curse, do whatever you have to. this team is capable of winning a world series.

hey, remember in 2003 when we hadn't lost 3 in a row all year until the nlcs, just when we were about to make it to the series? anybody remember 1984? they can't get there, it cannot be explained.

I think that they've only been to the NLCS 3 times in the 46 years its existed kinda explains it pretty well.

4 times. 0-5 in clinching games and 0-4 in the series themselves. doesn't count 69, either. cubs haven't been to a series since 45, the year of the curse.

They've only played in 3 NLCS series.

Woody making a bid to return to the rotation next year? He's been doing a yeoman's job thus far this series, compared to the starters.

Ooops.

Enough already. The curse this team had until this point was mismanagement. At the beginning of the year, .500 was the popular pick. This team way overachieved.

Yep. That we got this far with a lineup of college-aged kids is incredible.

is that accurate? you believe there is no God and that the universe is an indifferent blackness....but you also believe in voodoo and magic?

Good luck trading Hammel. My actual hope is we limit the innings and he's somewhat useful out of the pen.

But no ones trading for his carcass.

Start him until mid season when he is carrying a great era

IIRC, Jon Lieber had a similar problem as a Cub a zillion years ago. But I liked him.
