I'm still confident we win this series. Even with a loss tonight I would still have a belief they could come back and win it. There's a good part of me that thinks the Mets won their last game Sunday.

Same here. And should they happen to lose tonight, I'm still not giving up hope. Although it means nothing, the Red Sox ended their long drought coming back from 3-0 vs the other New York team in 2004.

so how does everyone feel, nerves-wise?

i think this is probably the most nervous I've been since game 2 of the nlds, but still no where close to the wild card game.

As a Cub fan for 44 years, I have learned to have lowered expectations to keep me from being nervous.

Anything can happen tonight, so I have no expectations. Hopeful, not nervous.

The only thing I'm nervous about is how an incredible series comeback might straight up kill me.

More facts that only I care about:

If the Cubs win one of these next 2 games, game 5 on Oct 23 will be tied for the latest date the Cubs have ever played a game.

and yet your sig still has us winning the world series yesterday!

I think they'll win tonight, lose tomorrow, win thursday and saturday setting up a game 7 in which we all drop dead at various points.

I really wish you wouldn't say things like that.

Also I'm terrible at counting apparently, we would have to extend to Game 6 on Oct 24th to tie/set the new record for latest date as Game 5 is on Oct 22.

Cubs win tonight and tomorrow and this board is in a frenzy on Thursday. Also, I will not be holding class long tonight (though I never keep them the entire time anyway).

With the early 6 run leads in the first these should be pretty stress free wins. I mean you will have to stress through the top of the first still.

Soler back in the lineup per Maddon on 670 just now. Admits there's a cold weather issue with Soler, but isn't worried about it long term and that he can adjust. Points out he's never really had too many early season at bats and needs to get used to it overall.

Also wanted to get Coghlan in vs. Syndergaard and pointed out Cogs almost hit a HR.

Prepared to be donged into submission, deGrom!

not the first time maddon said that about him, IIRC. think he said it back in april or may.

I hope they win because theres nothing more depressing than a 3-0 series and you're just waiting for the losing team to just give in and lose

So at the very least, give me some entertainment
