I haven't read the thread, but extremely proud of the Cubs and their plate appearances today. Also, sequencing sucks. 7 of 10 Cubs batters reached in a stretch from the 7th to the 9th and they only scored one run.

Finally watched the replay. That Heyward at bat in the first was huge. Lester got squeezed on the curve and then Rizzo doesn't pick the throw from Addison. Either happen and it is most likely a one run inning.

There's no way this was the most frustrating loss of the year. The Cubs were losing the entire game. I bet I could go through the game logs and come up with 10 losses more frustrating than this one. At least a couple of the other Cardinal losses plus the Phillies game where they blew the lead in the ninth and lost in extras.

In hindsight, I am sure the Cards would have rather lost this game than Molina (if he is out for an extended period). Unless he completely messed it up, I can't imagine he is not back for the playoffs.
