How many [expletive] wins is that for them against us? 3? 4? This division should be ours.

Five, I think.

The 5-0 first inning game.

The game Strop blew in the 8th.

The Peralta HR game.

The other game Strop blew in the 8th.

And now this one.

And the Cubs have NO fluky [expletive] wins against the Cardinals this year in... 18 games? Un [expletive] real.

The Peralta HR game is hands down the worst loss of the year, imo. But I wouldn't call it fluky.

Strop giving up a HR to Greg [expletive] Garcia was horsecrap, though.

how can you not call a loss with a lead and 2 outs in the 9th fluky?

http://www.fangraphs.com/wins.aspx?date=2015-07-08&team=Cubs&dh=0&season=2015

I guess that depends on how you define fluky. To me, a walk followed by a homer from a home run hitter isn't "fluky". For me, something has to be really improbable for me to consider it a fluke.

Semantics, I guess.

Same here. We got into too big of a hole earlier in the season. We've been busting our asses, trying to gain ground. Valiant effort, but too short. You piece of [expletive] rednecks can have the division this year. But that's it. We are coming for that [expletive] next season and you aren't getting it back. And we are going to stomp your asses in the playoffs. Prepare to have dongs rained upon you.

Man, I loved today. I get to watch so few of the games, and I love how invested I was in this, how even after the first inning I knew at the very least they were going to be in it. Everything was just so amped up and intense and it meant something; it [expletive] felt like playoff baseball. It's awesome to be watching REAL [expletive] BASEBALL again.

this is a dangerous game, but . . .

Probably only around 40-50; my schedule is [expletive] for catching them live and I can't stream at work, sadly.

Well this is now the worst loss of the season :(

Please win today, Dodgers.

holy [expletive] are you serious?

this dude is amazing

he never ceases to amaze me by somehow managing to shock me with the ridiculousness of the things he says

and it's all genuine

I guess it depends on how you define "worst." Was it not the most frustating, at least?

Between the bad send in the 8th and Berry getting thrown out by a cold catcher for the first time in 26 attempts in the 9th, the Cardinals had absolutely no business winning this game. We should be 4 back. And if you want to take it farther and count those other 3 BS games, we should be no more than 1 back. The 2nd game of that DH sweep in July was the only game you can argue we "stole" from them, I guess. They've now stolen four.

no, not even close.

it's the most INFURIATING loss for the rondon fans and skis of the world...until the next time they lose. everyone here on this site was probably pissed for a moment and then you remember it's baseball and that on on top of that, the cubs are actually good this year.

it's also nice to remember that above all else at least the Cubs aren't under federal investigation and are playing in honor of the memory of a hall of fame universally beloved man and not a murderer.

I'm just more disappointed that this is finally the Cubs' year, and we've had solid chances to pull closer to the division lead late in the season, and lady luck has bitchslapped us in favor of the pixie dust Satan worshippers. It feels like we deserve it more than anything else (and yes, I know this isn't objectively true, that we have to fight tooth and nail for everything we get), and yet the Cardinals keep getting breaks handed to them despite having fifty year's worth of balls bounce their way in the last five years.

Also, hello, lurkers from GRB! Hope you're enjoying the salt show in progress.

I mean, it was pretty incredible to see a morbidly obese Cards fan and a random beezy in a camo Cards jersey unleash hell on me when Yadi's backup three Berry out.

lol i mean

if you're antagonizing them, what do you expect

oh well that's fantastic. after you said that (and the meme about you not knowing who players are), i was afraid you were going to come back and say like six or something.

I get upset in the heat of the moment and let it go soon thereafter. As a whole, I've loved this season (though moreso the second half) and I have a disproportionate tendency to post mainly when bad [expletive] happens, something I'm trying to fix.

It'll take a really crummy loss to top this one.

I did get MLB.TV when they did their Father's Day deal, but with Sunday-Tuesday being my days off and my work schedule being noon-10:30 PM it just kills my chances to watch unless they're on a national broadcast.

Though I might be moving to something new where I could stream at work, so fingers crossed.

Yep. It's pretty awesome. And we didn't even have to go through some metaphysical transformation as some people thought before we became good. We are just good now. And we are playing exciting games late in the season. And we are heading to the playoffs with a bunch of dongsmiths and possibly the second best pitcher in baseball. There are many exciting games to follow.

I never receive as much vitriol from opposing fans than I do from Cardinals fans when I blatantly make fun of Yadi at games. It's unreal.

They think he's a saint. Most of those mouthbreathers are going to demand an investigation when he isn't a first ballot HoF'er (or a HoF'er at all).

Perfectly reasonable.

I think I suffered some kind of face blindness when that Berry person came into the game. Was he even real?

didn't you see his magical baserunning in pittsburgh the other night?

Yes, that is nice to remember.

It was completely directed at the field though. Several rows away, I'm talking. Behind me! Literally defending an opposing player I am heckling... In my home park.
