If that 495 is accurate as a true distance, that's the longest HR in MLB this year by 10 feet

I feel like Bryant or Javy are going to catch up to one of these 95 mph fastballs this inning and hit it about 450 ft.

FWIW, Gameday did clock that one at 95mph.

Too bad you were way off on the distance.

I thought that hit off the Under Armor part of the board live, which is still a pretty good poke. The fact it hit off the Toyota part is just ridiculous.

How freaky is it that the Cubs are basically doing what they did to Jorge De La Rosa now to Rubby?

Not to mention the fact that we're doing to Rubby pretty much what we did to him when we saw him back in May.

Nice game for Hendricks, but definitely the right move here.

Yeah, he did a good job but wasn't particularly sharp. Especially with all the extra pitchers on the roster now.

I missed it, I want to see it!

Some good discussion about our line-up. The research from Tom Tango would say we are probably doing things right with Schwarber 2nd and Rizzo and Bryant 4th and 5th. The third hitter just comes up so often in the first inning with nobody on and two outs, giving that spot a lot of low-impact ABs. However, Coghlan isn't really the right guy for the third spot. He gets a lot of his value from getting on base, though he does have some pop. The ideal third hitter would be like an old-school, Dave Kingman-type slugger. (Well, the ideal third hitter would be Bryce Harper, surrounded by eight other Bryce Harpers.) From our assortment of hitters, a "fixed" Javy might work well there.

It has a minimal effect on the lineup to have it properly constructed, though. And, all line-ups are different: some are deep; some have big star power and little else; some are full of on-base guys; some have a bunch of slap-hitting, small-ball guys. So, you can't just pigeonhole guys into the prototype lineup suggested by Tango. And, with our pitcher in the "proper" spot at 8, it would be nice to get around to Rizzo quicker in the later innings. So, I don't know what I think, nor do I really care.

FWIW, Coghlan has been a bit more of that SLG-heavy hitter in the second half, .252/.326/.496.
