im not proud about the amount of dislike i have in my heart for shark

I've never cared for him, and I don't feel bad about it.

How about....NOW:

He's gonna kiss that ball, just for you.

Does anyone know where I can find a video of the Castro error last night? I keep hearing people talk about it but I missed the play live.

OK Deadspin just posted it. I don't see how there is a debate. It was hit right at Castro. Yes it was hit hard but he barely had to move to get in front of the ball. If the ball was hit a few inches lower it would have gone through his legs for a sure error. Looks like a clear error to me and the Dodgers should stop bitching.

I look at it less as he was in front of the ball so much as the hop ate him up and he had no time to adjust/respond. I don't think anyone likely would have playing in the same spot. Personally, I thought it should have been a hit, but I see why it could go either way.

I didn't see it live, but I heard about it before seeing it. I expected it to have been a lot more borderline; I saw it as a pretty clear error. Yes, it was hit hard, but he was right in front of it. If it had been called a hit in a non-no hitter context, I would have viewed it as a hometown ruling for the batter.

I think it's easy to see both ways.

If you want to say that it was hit more or less at Castro and that it hit him in the arms/hands, and that has to be an error regardless of spin/velocity, I think that's fair.

If you want to say that because of the spin/hop that cleanly fielding it required an abnormally good play and therefore it should be a hit, I don't think that's unfair.

As it stands, a tough error for Castro(but an error nonetheless) isn't at all unreasonable.

You're so wise. Now tell me who gets this baby!

TT really is the best.

Agreed on the 50/50 ness of the call. If there wasn't a no hitter going, I'd bet 8-9 times out of 10 the home team gets a hit on that. As is, if the situation was reversed, I'd like to think I wouldn't be too upset about given the dominance of the rest of the outing.

I was really, really hoping this was going to be the full scene and I could watch it on loop until this game starts.

I'm going to throw out the radical option here of: lets abolish errors

I mean, after Arrieta's no hitter of course, but I am proponent of just eliminating them as a category all together

Jesse Rogers said Grimm didn't even know it was a no hitter after it was completed. He was wondering why the rest of the pen was sprinting to the field from the pen instead of jogging like usual.
