Should have cut bait and traded Fowler and Montero for prospects. Maybe Arrieta too because screw pitchers.

yup at the time thats what i thought. but i never expected them to get this hot.

To be clear I was making fun of people like you.

So Montero at Catcher tomarrow and Schwarber DH? Coughlan to LF and Castro at 2B? I want an offensive assault

Then you'd probably want to go Montero at C, Schwarber DH, Coghlan 2B, Denorfia LF.

I was thinking about the 12-game win streak in 2001, and I checked and we won 3 in a row after it snapped to go 15-1. That's the only time I can remember ever doing anything like this.

I want to pull an 02 A's (was that the year?)

I have a feeling this team will have books written about it too.

And the movie would end up being all about Coghlan, Montero and Richards.

Can some benevolent soul tell me what Wood's line in relief is?

I don't think this is updated to include today, but he has a 3.29 ERA with a 1.226 WHIP, 2.44 SO/W and 10.3 K/9. Batters hitting .209 .299 .288 .587 off of him. He's only given up 1 HR in 37+ innings of relief work, whereas he gave up 9 in 38 innings as a starter this year.

Thank you, good sir. That's a pretty damn solid line.

Dammit Schwarber is going to struggle just enough to justify Maddon taking him out of the lineup more often isnt he?

This is really funny to read after the game.

is there a place on FG to check updated stats after games are finished or do you need to wait until the following day? I wanna know how much Schwarber's fWAR jumped.

1.2 to 1.6. Here's the Cubs hitting stats not including today: http://www.fangraphs.com/leaders.aspx?pos=all&stats=bat&lg=all&qual=0&type=8&season=2015&month=0&season1=2015&ind=0&team=17&rost=0&age=0&filter=&players=0

If you change the Split to be 'Live Stats - Full Season', that will include today's games. This will also work in the middle of games, as long as that particular play has been recorded in Fangraphs(it's not Gameday fast, but not too slow).

After 113 games:

2015: 65-48

2008: 67-46

Random tidbit, but I was just looking through some stats from 2008 and Carlos Zambrano was worth 1.4 WAR offensively that year.

On kind of the same note, Lester's 45 PAs have resulted in -0.5 WAR this year.

To be clear I was admitting that when I made a thread about that I didn't expect them to get hot and I was wrong :-$
