im pulling for cancel and double header in september the more i think about it i like it, could really make a huge impact on the postseason

I'd rather not have a doubleheader if possible. Although there are MLB rules about how many off days you have to have so it might have to happen

its alot easier with expanded rosters though.

Baez just cracked a two out double to give Iowa the lead, 3-6, R, 2B, 3B, 3 RBI

He needs to be up. No reason to keep trotting Starlin out.

If you listen to Jesse Rogers, Baez shouldn't be called up because he could be "much worse" than Castro. Statistically, I don't know how that is even remotely possible.

even if he Ks 2 times per game, he will hit more bomb between now and the end of the season than starlin all season so far. also the double play threat is reduced dramatically and lastly if javy is at 2b, the defense is going to be alot better with russell at ss

Well, you might want to brace yourself before looking at last year's numbers...

Baez's 2014 was worse than Castro's 2015.

Also I'm pleased Baez is hitting but note that tonight is the 3rd game in a series in Colorado Springs, so look at the performance through that lens.

Easiest make up is on 9/14. Both teams are off, the Cubs will be coming from Philadelphia to Pittsburgh for a series starting the 15th, and the Pirates are at home prior to the 14th.

Barely.

I'm not saying Baez couldn't possibly be slightly worse. He certainly could. But with how bad Castro has been, there is very little risk in taking that chance. There is virtually nothing to lose except for Castro's future trade value, which I really don't care about at this point.

yeah even if it isnt a doubleheader rosters will be expanded its prolly a good thing. and by then castro may have already adjusted to his impending role on the bench!

It could hurt Baez trade value even more than Castro's -- but i can live with javy k's --- i cant live with more booted easy outs and double plays... russell has to play SS soon!

You could hurt Baez's trade value and/or his development too. Also Baez hit .149/.239/.228 with a 41% K rate last September, I'm optimistic he can make adjustments(Castro could too), but his total MLB line is not a floor, unfortunately.

This is gonna be like 2004 where hurricanes fucked up all our off days down the stretch isn't it

(I totally have no idea how accurate that is)
