By the way, we are still going to need a starter for Sunday.

Yep. Haren pitched yesterday. All the more reason to believe this isn't it.

Ok.

I'm not high on Haren, but he's better than our other fifth starter options. Assuming the prospects are mostly non-entities, this is a fine move. Uninspiring, but still an improvement.

Not saying Theo is perfect, but these are the times when I don't believe we have to worry we gave up anything. At all. He knows what's up.

Yeah, not even the same at all.

Montero: “Haren is not what he was, everyone knows that but the one thing that he has, and I would take it any day, is he has guts."

That was the missing ingredient all along... guts!

Might be a let down, but Haren throws strikes and gives you an experienced alternative if Lester or Arrieta don't line up for WC game.

lmao at arguello

Hate this [expletive] tweet

I mean Danks is making $15 million the next two years, Haren is virtually free. Huge difference.

Remember that time we started Mark Clark in game 1 against Atlanta? (Or maybe we didn't. That's how I remember it and I'm too lazy to look it up).

Was it Game 1 or 2 that Tapani almost threw a shutout?

The '98 Cubs preferred to call him 'our #2 starter'.
