Ultimate irony with Motte today as he gets 2 outs without trouble in game 1 without being awarded a save and then gives up 3 hits and a run in game 2 but gets a save. Yay rules.

Yes but apparently if you come in for less than 3 outs and the tying run not on deck, you don't get a save.

All that matters is that if the tying run is on deck - if that's ever the case, it's a save situation.
