We'd be winning the AL East.

I know it's simulations but BP has the Angels with the best simulated record in the AL at the end of the year with 85 wins. BP has 5 NL teams (Wash, StL, Pit, ChC, LAD) with a better projected record plus a sixth (SF) with the same. Fangraphs projections have the best five teams in the NL (same 5 as above) with the Yankees sixth and the Giants seventh.

 

We wouldn't be playing an NL schedule if we were in the AL

I believe it is only a ground rule double if the OF immediately puts up his arms and the ump then calls it. The OF gave up on the ball and didn't care, so the ump wasn't going to make the effort to make the call. If the ball bounced into the stands for a "traditional" ground rule double then maybe he gets that added to his stat line automatically. Although he may have to hit second base to make it official.

Castro should have run all the way to second. His OPS could use the slight increase he would have gotten.

What? I'd like to see that rule because it ain't right. What you're saying would leave 2 runners at 2nd if a GRD is hit with a runner on 1st.

I'm not sure what's worse, this or Mojo thinking that you could DH for any player in the lineup.

 

mojo's thing isn't that weird, considering that potentially dh'ing for the ss or whatever never comes up. the ground rule double thing happens all the time at wrigley.
