Because you're taking the glass if half empty view on every single player.

It's completely reasonable to view it in a less then optimistic light. The Bulls aren't contenders for the foreseeable future. (Likely 2 years when Rose/Noah/Pau go away) Then we're back to praying upon ping pong balls and hoping the surly front office can lure a big name free agent. Welcome to NBA hell.

Viewing each and every player in the worst possible way is more than "a less then (sic) optimistic light". It is straight up pessimistic.

The Bulls' success isn't hinged on Gasol and Noah; it's hinged on Butler, Rose and Mirotic. Why you're assuming they're just going to sit pat and simply wait to shed players, especially when the cap is going to exploding, only makes sense in the tedious context of literally every post of yours about the Bulls being some variation of your "basketball hell" bellyaching. We get it; you think the Bulls are eternally doomed and anything short of a championship is an absolute failure to you.

What about the past allows you to see this as optimistic? Cap space means nothing as Chicago hasn't landed #1 type free agent since........never? I dont see a championship window opening until we get that big time player. Sprinkling shooters around Rose/Butler/Mirotic won't do anything if Rose doesn't go back to 2010 form. The goal is to beat Lebron and the Bulls have never proved it, even when his team was crumbling around him. The Cavs opening day roster will be better then last years.

Call it pessimistic, I think its a proven viewpoint that is aided by the Bulls past history.

The Bulls have a good core. They have a history of being competitive and developing players. I have no idea why you think their plan is to just bottom out and pray for a lottery pick.

The whole "nba hell" thing has taken on such a stupid meaning to some fans. Windows are moving targets and consistently winning, but never winning it all is not automatically a bad thing.

I don't think that is their plan. It's obvious Bulls management thinks they can continue to compete with the Cavs for the title. They are wrong.

Aaron Brooks stays with the Bulls. 1 year deal.

Yuck...

Apparently he gets Bird rights too, so he can refuse trades.

Of course they think they can compete for a title; what are you even trying to say here? Because the Cavs exist they shouldn't even bother trying?

Reading the last 30-40 posts, I side with Raw....It's not likely to beat the Cavs.....But damn, you can't just tear down. New coach, improvements from a few guys, Rose technically could come back better than last year himself(Im a Rose hater too), shouldn't be as tired heading into the playoffs....

No, I don't think we'll beat Cleveland. But as much as I'm an all or nothing guy-you can't just say [expletive] it, we don't have Lebron, lets whack off until he retires.

Lol, Shaq put himself on the Lakers all time best 5.

Are you familiar with Shaq's Lakers career?

If I'm building a Lakers starting lineup I go something like Magic, Bryant, Baylor, Chamberlain, Abdul-Jabbar (not caring that they are both centers that will have difficulting guarding stretch 4's). I'm not sure who Shaq is supposed to replace between Wilt and Kareem, Kareem is clearly a better player and Laker, Wilt was on the latter part of his prime on the Lakers and Shaq had a more accomplished career with the Lakers, but I think Shaq is a worse fit at PF than Wilt.

If we're just ranking top Lakers careers of all time, I don't think you'd find much of an argument putting Kobe, Kareem and Magic ahead of Shaq. Shaq would probably go somewhere in a grouping with West, Baylor, Wilt, and maybe Mikan. So I don't think its a given than he's top 5.

Lakers Shaq was a much better player than Lakers Wilt. Like not even close.

Lakers Shaq has a GOAT type peak if the advanced stats have a say.

Lineups/fit aside he is definitely top 5 Laker even if you end up with 3 centers.

I think its closer than you think although I doubt either of us are going off anything but numbers, at least for Wilt. I'm basing it on the fact that Wilt at that stage was a better defender, rebounder and passer than Shaq. And by the late 60's/early 70's it wasn't giant Wilt grabbing rebounds over 6-6 PFs, meaning his overall size was no more of an advantage in his era than Shaq's.

But yeah I don't disagree that Shaq's Laker career was better. If I'm building a starting 5 though, I'd take Wilt. If I'm just building a list of great Lakers, Shaq is not a consensus top 5 player although gun to my head he's 5th behind Kobe, Kareem, Magic and West. and Baylor right behind him.

Actually he's the only one I am familiar with, really. Peak value might be higher, but I'd still give Kareem's longevity in LA the nod.

We can all agree that he's right though. They'd smoke the Bulls all-time 5.

Not Shaq's list. There was an all time roster for every team. Wilt was on Philly. Though I'm assuming Shaq was probably on Orlando and Miami also.

Still put Worthy at the 4 and that team probably still beats that Bulls team.

Yeah, who would stop Kareem from scoring every single time down the court?
