Cubs batters have three options; Strike out, walk, or single. Unless it's Castro, he only has one option, grounder to the left side.

Yep. If there are stats that say the Cubs aren't being patient enough, sure, but I'm pretty sure their approach has been fine, and it doesn't explain how worse teams are hitting for more power
