Detroit needs to start losing so they can unload Price

cincy is very unlikely to make the playoffs and has a borderline ace (cueto) who is a free agent after this season.

What is it about Cueto that you find to be "borderline" ace?

what is the question, the borderline or the ace?

Probably the part in quotes. He hasn't had an era above 3.00 since 2010

well, he only struck out 6 batters per 9 innings in 2011 and his FIP was like a run and a half above his actual ERA. his FIP has fallen into the low 3s and clearly last year was his best one - highest K rate and still low BB rate - but he still had the second-highest LOB% and the lowest BABIP in baseball. maybe he's one of those guys who can outpitch his peripherals consistently, but right now i'd probably slot him in around the top 20-25 starters, which is still really good. just not quite in the upper echelon of #1 starters (which would be the likes of kershaw, king felix, strasburg, sale, bumgarner, harvey, greinke, probably a couple of others).

Ok Theo, now go get us a front line young stud starter and let's win it all.

If there ever was a time to sell high on The Southern League Player of the Week, INFIELDER Dan Vogelbach, now is the time.

If the medicals look alright I want Alex Cobb, he's under control through 2017 and dominant. I just wonder if it could get done without Baez or Schwarber.

So what is that we're giving up here?

Vogelbach, Almora, Alcantara, CJ Edwards and throw in Jackson without his contract.

If we're talking about midseason pitching acquisitions, I'm curious how Latos pitches this spring. The Marlins look like they aren't going to be in the race and they sure aren't going to retain him, and he's young enough that an extension could still be a good idea.

rationally i'd like that acquisition, but irrationally i think he's a fat d-bag with ridiculous tattoos, so i'd rather not trade for him.

Russell said his first call was to his family. Spoke to father Wayne, mother Milany and two teenage sisters. Little brother Tyson was in bed

We're all very impressed you took the time to write down all their names, Ash.

The teenage sisters missed the cut.

between north over at PSD saying to trade castro and you suggesting trading for this piece of [expletive] my whole world is turning upside down on what is an otherwise glorious night

We aren't exactly drowning in great options. Pray that the Nationals somehow tank and make Zimmermann and/or Strasburg available I guess.

I'm trying to find likely OF targets and not coming up with much. If KC tanked, Gordon would be great. If Milwaukee comes to the realization that their window has passed, I'd love to trade for Carlos Gomez. He'd be very expensive with a cheap deal through 2016, though. Maybe Upton if the grand experiment in SD doesn't work?

Honestly, the market for pitching will probably be better.

I like Carlos Gonzalez as a possible target for a LF.

he's toast.

Was sitting at the Bulls game for my birthday, watching Bryant inside the park dong highlights and getting Russell news while scarfing down deep dish. Hell of a day.

Did we just call up Adrian Beltre and Barry Larkin in less than one week?

one of these comps is kind of accurate, the other is far from it

should've gone with glaus or something

Last night, I had a dream about the Cubs that didn't involve poisoning Tom Ricketts's bison dog for the first time in 5 years.

lmao

Just put Schwarber in LF and put a package together involving any combination of the spare parts that remain. I'd like to see Hamels.

Welcome to the bigs, Addison Russell!
