It's ERA, so take it for what it's worth, but all five Cubs staters are in the top fifty in ERA in mlb.

I wouldn't hold out much hope that Haren stays there

Who's the third guy? Barstool Big Cat?

Yeah. He's had himself quite the summer. Basically got to tag along with Blackhawks for all their stanley cup celebrations and now chumming around with Rizzo and the Cubs.

Well, the world needs jock sniffers, too.

i love that theo has a giant glowstick in his pocket while karaokeing you shook me all night long

makes it look like he's so much more drunk than he necessarily is

I'm pretty sure he was that drunk.

god I love this te------ this organization

I can't think of another organization where the head of baseball ops takes the star slugger out drinking on his birthday during the season.

[expletive]; first Theo shows up a bunch of times at Tripoli Tavern on Armitage, right down the street from me an on my walk to work, and now he shows up at a place right around the corner from my old place, and not once did I run into him.

DAMN YOOOOOOOOOOOOOU, CUBS.

Rizzo seems to hang out in that part of LP a lot. I remember him posting a pic on Instagram from some bar in that same area.

since this is the positivity thread, i just want to give rosenbloom (who i do not like) credit for attempting to use some decent stats in this

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/rosenblog/ct-cubs-sweep-giants-rosenbloom-20150810-column.html

it's kind of cute how he refers to a "wins above replacement rating"

and I like this

You can yammer on about the Cubs’ doing this with house money because they weren’t expected to be this good this quick. I’m not sure who was doing the expecting, but that’s an old thought right now.

You can’t plan championships, and the team that has gone more than a century without one ought to know that. Same goes for fans and observers.

Theo Epstein said every season is sacred, and this proves it. This is not the lark of house money. This sweep seemed to change things. The Cubs proved they should be taken seriously and deserve the burden of greater expectations.
