I'd like to know why Hoke is so widely respected, when this team has had such trouble with its secondary.

He still got $4MM up front from the Bills buyout. He will probably make, what, $1MM with an assistant head coach title? I'd say Marrone will be fine. He'll get a mediocre NFL or College head coaching job next year.

At the time, I thought it was a smart move. In hindsight, unless you're more proven or you know for sure you have another move secured, you can't do this.

 

I thought he had the Jets job locked up.
