Clearly, if you're a major program in the Midwest, the answer is to royally [expletive] something up like Tattoogate or hiring Brady Hoke so you can fall ass over tea kettle into one of the elite coaches in the sport.

I am not sure...he's been on the "protect the shield" brigade of reporters brushing off all Harbaugh back to college rumors until pretty much yesterday. I'm sure he likes Michigan but he loves the NFL even more.

 

The rumors are Harbaugh actually accepted the job a week ago and some reporters are still pretending that there is a chance he doesn't go to UM. Of course all that tweet really means is that he called up the Bears, Jets and Raiders and asked if they would be going after Harbaugh if available.

I would think if going to another NFL team was a real possibility, the 49ers would have kept him and tried to get compensation for him
