Gomes gets $4 million (w/ a $3 million vesting option) from the Braves.

Bahahahahaha. Since when did the Braves become awful and dumb? Yikes.

Ha! Harold Reynolds was right about Trout and Meph wasn't.

The next page involves a bunch more posters making fun of Trout.

Even more delicious. Hindsight is fun.

From what I was reading, they were making fun of the broadcast for using the same adjectives to describe every draftee. They were making fun of the stuff Reynolds was saying about Trout, not of Trout.

There were also several pages of posters hoping someone else would draft Brett Jackson to save the Cubs FO from themselves.

It's not like the alternatives suggested were any better. That's a really shitty looking first round.

I think they are trying to look suburban for their big move.

Ha! I have a friend who lives in the neighborhood next to Turner field. It's a pretty sketchy neighborhood. When I talked to her about the Braves moving she pretty much said she's moving with them otherwise that neighborhood would be a disaster. I once parked my car there for a few days because I needed to fly out of Atlanta and when I came back I had found a hobo had rummaged through my car and taken my hoodie that was in my back seat but for whatever reason left the change in my cup holder. It was winter so I guess he was cold... could've been worse, I optimistically look at it as helping someone in need out, but theft is still theft and now I'm paranoid when I visit.

You are paranoid of a homeless person stealing your hoodie again?

I'm paranoid of someone being able to break into my car and do something else like, oh I don't know, steal it.

(I know it was a joke, and I laughed, but still)

I'm not sure where you are from but that can and does happen everywhere and is not something to be paranoid about.

I know a guy who had his shitty car broken into 3 times outside his apartment. Once, it was clearly driven and returned to a different spot. The other time, cops found it with a group of teens hanging out in a parking lot 2 miles away and alerted him to the stolen car before he knew.

The Brewers must want to go make extra extra sure they finish in 4th place instead of 5th.

Did you leave your car unlocked or did this hobo break your window?

He'll probably cost little in terms of prospects, and is a one year commitment assuming they make Broxton the closer. What's the issue?

Maybe it was PTR, just off the rails after a coast to coast trip

How did you know it was a hobo?

I'm largely being snarky, but it strikes me as a pretty bad idea. There's a non-zero chance you have Papelbon around for 2016 taking up like 15% of your payroll. He seems primed for a pretty sharp decline this year(although that doesn't mean he'll necessarily be terrible). He'll cost *something* in players, and he doesn't move the needle much for this year. The Brewers are in a bit of limbo in that the current team is not good enough, but the farm system is worse and with that inability to supplement they don't have the ability to try and buy their way back into contention. I'm not saying that they should be stripping the team for parts, but in order to keep any type of window open they'd be better off using their resources on someone who could make 2016 better too. Think Billingsley, Ethier, etc, not a 34 year old expensive reliever.

Didn't people say the same thing about them signing Garza last year? They completely collapsed, but they did sit in 1st place for about 5 months out of the year last year.

80-82 pythag. Started the first month of the season 20-8 and were under .500 in 4 of 6 months.

I think they'll be in a scrum with the Cubs and Pirates for awhile before settling in 4th.

Cardinals

Cubs

Pirates

Brewers

Reds

About how I'd rank it.

If they're in a scrum with the Cubs and Pirates then adding talent is what they should be doing.

On the bottom end of the scrum. Add talent? Yes. Trade assets and pay Papelbon 20+ million? No.

Did you leave your car unlocked or did this hobo break your window?

Ironically, I left my doors unlocked for the first time in just about forever last night, and sure enough, someone got into the car and stole about $3.00 in quarters from the tray. I called the police to report it, but not for the $3.00 he stole. Dude left someone's laptop laying in our yard, so stealing my $3.00 might have cost him a lot more by leaving that laptop behind. LOL.

I wonder if it was the same hobo? Dude gets around.

I left my car unlocked one night last summer. When I got in my car the next morning nothing was missing but someone had apparently gotten in my car and smoked a whole cigarette. At least it appeared that way based on the smell and the large amount of ashes all over my passengers seat. WTF?

He had committed to playing at ECU :-(

That would have been fun.

(And of course I missed the game last year when Theo and Jed where in this godforsaken town to see Hoffman)

The game that broke Hoffman.
