Based on your Russell posts, I know you worry about the present stats too much with prospects. You have to allow for projection, especially since this regime provides far better coaching and instruction. I'm my not that high on Almora but it has nothing to do with a short sample at AA where he was young for his level.

(I'm lower on him because he doesn't seem to have elite athleticism or great tools. He has yet to improve his game plan at the plate or his patience, the type of stuff that would help you overcome not having the best physical gifts.)

but mostly its the 680 ops

@JGoro8: For all these lists, there are personal prefs in the last few spots. I've made it known that I like Jen Ho Tseng more than any P in system.

That list reminded me that Soler will be ROY.

Kris Bryant says no and he'll even spot Soler 2 weeks.

Nah.

Friendly reminder that Kris Bryant has a career 1.095 OPS and despite his charming outward appearance is probably more of a crazy old testament god than benevolent dictator so slight him at your peril

Guys, the OPS is fine, so stop worrying about Jackson Olt Baez Lake Bryant.

Guys, the OPS is fine, so stop worrying about Stanton and Springer.

None of those four have MiLB OPS's within even 200 points of Bryant. The closest of the four in any season at AAA was Jackson - 2011, age 22 also, 215 PAs (Bryant was 297 PAs) - and he was still 100 points shy with a BABIP 70 points higher.

I get the worry about Bryant's strikeouts but none of those guys produced anywhere near what Bryant did.

Yeah, Junior Lake's 700 OPS in AA really had people talking. The only one you have even the slightest chance of making your point is Jackson, whose OPS was fine along the way. But Bryant's is amazing and pretending it is the same is absurd.

Yeah, I'm sure no one was worried about Olt's .550 OPS in Iowa as a 24 year old before he made the team either.

There were points in every one of those player's careers where there was some portion of the fan base insisting that the slash line was fine so stop worrying about the peripherals.

Whether or not the players are the exact same thing or not, the thought process that's leading to so many dismissing Bryant's problems as irrelevant is the same.

That is moronic and wrong.

Two idiots thinking Junior Lake's OPS was "fine" has nothing to do with everybody but Kyle realizing Bryant's OPS is insanely good.

I realize that his OPS is insanely good. An insanely good OPS doesn't eliminate my concerns about exploitable holes in his swing.

Just admit that he makes your doom boner hard.

I'm going Grade A with Jorge Soler. That gives the Cubs three Grade A hitting prospects.
