Week 7: Dolphins (2-3) @ Bears (3-3) Noon, CBS/780

I'd like to see DJ Williams and Briggs sit again, just to go with the hot hand(s). If that does happen and Bostic plays, I'd be interested to see who they go with at the LB spots.

I'd go Sharpton in the middle, with Greene at WLB, throw Bostic in the nickel for Greene, and start Jones at SLB with McClellin working in. That could realistically be the LB corps in 2015 and beyond (Sharpton would have to be re-signed).

It was good to see more speed on defense, something they sorely need. The pessimistic side of me is concerned of how well the D-Line played. I'd be curious to see how well they will do when the D-Line plays like they did against GB. With that said, I'd rather see them go with youth.

I was about to come in here and write that we should all hold our breath to see how the kids do against a good O-Line, but then I looked at FO's rankings and Atlanta is surprisingly no. 9, run and pass. Miami is no. 3 in terms of running and no. 10 passing: http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/ol

They might be ranked in the top 10 but they obviously had a bad game. That doesn't ignore the fact that the line has been improved (espec. Young) and they were coming off a horrible week against GB.

@davidjustCST: Donovan McNabb says #bears QB Jay Cutler isn't a winner, labels him "Tony Romo of the Midwest" http://t.co/nVJUrF0MUC http://t.co/QRfyCrI14p

so hilariously dumb on a multitude of levels

McNabb has long hated Jay. He's said things like this before.

Back in July:

"I think Jay might be the luckiest dude in Chicago, to be honest with you, with the contract that he received for what we haven't seen thus far," McNabb said. "Don't get me wrong, I think Jay's got a strong arm, I think the sky's the limit for him. But for what we've seen in Chicago, when you didn't finish the NFC Championship — which it was due to injury. But even with that, you haven't been able to get past that hump you needed. One game to get into the playoffs, you couldn't get it done. Caleb Hanie comes in to play, Josh McCown comes in to play, and then contract comes up and you get paid like a top-three, top-four quarterback? I mean, are you serious? For what we've seen? If he doesn't do it this year, it's going to end up being a mistake."

yeah

anyone else remember him giving him some long pep talk after a sunday night game in 09? jay probably DC'd him.

He also said the Cowboys aren't a Top 10 team right now.

Bitter about something.

Hahaha...I'm not necessarily a believer that the Cowboys will keep this up, but come on.

@mikecwright: No practice: Briggs, Conte; limited: Bostic, Dixon, Mills, D.J. Williams; Full part: Bushrod, McClellin, McManis.

No Conte sucks. Hope McManis can go, though I don't know that he sees the field on D. Interested to see tomorrow's report. No practice Friday usually means out Sunday.....unless you're Brandon Marshall.

As dumb as McNabb may be, he didn't exactly say anything that was inaccurate. I've long supported Jay, but this season is the tipping point for me.

In 16 complete games with Trestman, Cutler is 377/576 (65.5%) for 4271 yds, 32 TDs, 17 INTs, 7.4 YPA, and a 93.7 rating

To go alongside this, Cutler's projected 16 game totals based on his play this year

416/611 68.1% 4,469 yards 7.32 YPA 35 TD 16 INT 97.4 rating

Oh, so we're going to pretend that football statistics are a complete story to a football game and ones season. His statistics have improved. His 10 year streak of untimely play and costly turnovers have not.

I'll wait to see how the season plays out. The hope is gone and the expectancy of something bad eventually happening remains.

They are banged up to be sure.

You want to see something really weird? Look at our ratings running left-center-right (bottom of that page).

Ill-timed throws? Don't leave out 'costly turnovers' from the quote.

i'm asking what the long streak of untimely play is about

i know he has thrown interceptions at bad times sometimes. lots of quarterbacks have. even good ones. and yes, i'd like him to clean up that area of his game.

ROFL 'clean up' that area of his game? So 9 years in hes going to change suddenly?
