Mock draft time: http://mweb.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/nfl-draft-scout/24739572/mock-draft-three-qbs-projected-in-top-10-but-not-at-no-1

Bears take Shilique Calhoun at 15. Guys I like around that pick: Shawn Oakman at 13. Dante Fowler 14 and Shaq Thompson went 23. Also like some of the corners and receivers near the Bears pick but I'd be surprised if the Bears go that way in the first round.

If you need a laugh...

Walter mock picks-

11: Ronald Darby CB

43: Owamagbe Odighizuwa DE (Michael Bennett/Shaq Thompson/McKinney still available)

75: Jordan Richards S

BONUS: If you're wondering who Charlie picked for the Bears in his mock-

14: Landon Collins S

46: Shaq Thompson OLB

78: Cedric Reed DE

Charlie has a clue. That would be a helluva draft.

yesterday on the cutler show, they did the have people from the audience ask questions thing and some lady started rambling and was asking some stupid question and while she was talking he groaned loudly into the mic and under his breath was like "ughhhh i don't want to do this" and it was glorious

Ha, I wasn't gonna listen cuz those shows are much more fun after a win, but now I might have to listen.

This is the first game I haven't felt confident that the Bears would get a win. I thought the Bears would have too much offense for Buffalo. I was right about the 49ers and Jets games. I thought the Bears were going in the right direction with GB going in the wrong direction and the Bears were at home. I thought the Bears were simply a better team than Carolina. And while I do think the Bears are a better team than the Falcons, Atlanta has a huge homefield advantage. Maybe top 3 along with Seattle and Denver/New Orleans.

Atlanta will throw a ton. Julio Jones leads the league in catches. Be interested to see how Fuller does against him. Completely different type of matchup from Benjamin, who Fuller did well against.

I'm actually not too worried about Hester on special teams. The Bears have only allowed anything on a play they just sat and watched the ball on. They've been fine covering kicks, when not hitting a guy who calls a fair catch or before he gets the ball. The Bears are 7th best in KOR avg allowed. They would be 6th best in PR avg allowed if they downed the ball on Sunday and you take away that 79 of 129 yards they've allowed this year. The biggest ST issue has been penalties on returns and poor field position.

That would be an amazing draft but if Shaq Thompson is available at 46, something must have gone seriously wrong with him.

Agreed. Though with Thompson, McKinney, Striker, Kendricks, and Perryman (maybe even Beasley) all looking like 4-3 LBs at the next level, one of those guys is likely to be there at 46. Thompson is the least likely, unless we count Beasley.

Haven't they also had a punt blocked? They have been bad on special teams this year. Maybe they aren't awful on coverage, but special teams issues tend to bleed into one another, considering they are coached by the same man. They are going to be punting from deep in their own zone and that is going to be an issue this week.

Yes, they have been bad on ST this year. And they are actually good in coverage (far from not awful) when they actually try to cover, though I guess the fact that they just let a ball sit there doesn't really count FOR them. But I don't know that there's any proof to special teams issues "bleeding" into other areas. Nor do I know how you know for a fact the Bears will be punting from deep in their own zone this week.

It's just something they tend to do. Their idiot returns take balls out of the endzone and get tackled on the 11. If this coincides with the offense in shutdown mode, there is a quick three and out and a punt from inside the opponents red zone.

Making that assumption is no worse than you disregarding bad results.

All these bad decisions and mistakes go back to having a bad ST coach.

my best friend is a big falcons fan. this won't go well.

Levin likes the 49ers, not the Falcons

@mikecwright: Isaiah Frey was just released per source.

I'm guessing Sherrick McManis is healthy.

Rough luck though...forced a fumble and then gets released.

First turnover he's been involved in (0 INTs, 0 FF, 0 FR going into Sunday) in 19 games playing over 55% of the time.
